Luke Roes

Luke Roes is a songwriter, guitarist and producer currently based out of London, Ontario. His idiosyncratic take on indie-pop first found a home in the band Ivory Hours, with a whirlwind year landing the song ‘Warpaint’ on radio and dishing up back to back award wins from 102.1 The Edge in Toronto and Canada’s Walk of Fame.

A relentless curiosity for new sounds resulted in the rock-infused ‘Dreamworld’ with the single ‘Shadow Kids’ also seeing play at radio and Sirius XM. It caught the ears of Slaight Music leading the band to be part of 2018’s Allan Slaight Juno Masterclass. Digging deeper into production and sound design led to the singles ‘Boys Club’, ‘House of Mirrors’ and ‘Echoes’ - each seeing placements on major editorial playlists at both Spotify and Apple Music.

Taking a break away from performing Roes began producing and recording other up and coming acts including fellow indie poppers New Friends. 2020 also saw the release of Holiday Tears’ EP Night Owl’ - a moody electro-pop side project with Adam Hart. In 2022 he began releasing songs from the solo project ‘Welcome To My Head’ - a series of songs exploring his experience with mental illness.

While his path has been anything but linear, the result is a diverse catalogue of music that’s generated over six million streams and isn’t slowing down. No matter the backdrop, Roes’ distinctive voice and inventive sense of melody always shine through.
